Hello, World! I am a travel agent now!

Becoming a Travel Agent

So… I changed careers! A few weeks ago, I officially left my fulltime job in order to pursue a career as a travel agent.

Crazy? Nah! It’s perfect for me. For the last three years, I have worked with incredible colleagues, moved up the ranks, and had one of the greatest bosses out there. Unfortunately, something just always felt “off”.

It was time for me to move on, which ultimately led me back to the path that most roads in life seem to take me: to travel. Sure, I’m not picking up my bags and jetting across the world like I may have a few years ago. However, I am going to spend my days exploring the world through my clients as I design highly personalized vacations around the globe for them.

Wait, what?

I am working with a group of incredible agents at Globe Getaways where I will be focusing on romance travel including everything from destination weddings, honeymoons and anniversary trips. I am particularly excited to be working with brides and loved ones on these special occasions as I know how momentous they are.

Heck! I got engaged in Thailand! And I am adoring planning my own wedding and honeymoon! So, working side by side with couples to create a truly memorable experience for them is right up my alley.

That all being said, I truly believe there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to travel.  My top priority is to curate the perfect itinerary no matter what type of travel my clients’ prefer.

But why be a travel agent?

Some people are born with a talent for singing or a fixation with numbers; I, on the other hand, was born with an extreme case of wanderlust. Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated with other cultures, religions, and ethnicities. In fact, the only summer camp I ever attended was a month-long international camp with an emphasis on intercultural living. I was eleven.

Since then, my desire to learn and explore other parts of the world has never subsided. As an adult, I have traveled through 14 countries in North America, Europe, and Asia. In my spare time, I constantly read travel blogs and country guidebooks. Exploring other cultures, eating different foods, and meeting new people are what make me tick. I can spend hours discussing someone else’s travel plans.

So, it only made sense to use my passion and experiences to help create unforgettable and enriching adventures for others.

What’s next?

What does this mean for the blog? Simply put, not too terribly much. The blog has always been my outlet to share my passion for living a life outside of a 9 to 5. This doesn’t change that. That being said, it will focus more on traveling tips & inspiration, city guides, and my own personal anecdotes from my quest to reach Greater Altitudes.

Colorado is still my home and my roots are deep. So, I will still be infusing the good old Colorado lifestyle into my work on the blog. If you come for the recipes, the workouts, and Colorado gear, it will still be here. Just next to Thailand, Mexico and so many other treasures around the world.

Finally, if you are wondering more about what I am doing check out the new About section that goes into more detail! And if you have a vacation coming up, feel free to reach out! I would love to design a travel experience specifically for you.

Until Next Time,
